Gasoline or Diesel: Which is More Profitable to Use on Major Roads?

Choosing fuel for your car is always a very difficult and painstaking process. You want your “iron horse” to feel good, to function for a long time, to break down less often. But let’s dig deeper: why do you need a car? You will ask in answer: “What do you mean – why? To drive in comfort, not to wait for mass transport!”. And it’s true, people do buy cars in order to drive. And then the question becomes in turn: where exactly do you need to go?

Well, for example, you work as a carrier, who needs to cover several dozen kilometers every day. Or you bought a car in order to commute to work in another city. Well, or you need a car in order to get out every weekend to the city center for a walk. It is very important to understand and analyze it BEFORE you become a car owner, because the answers to these questions determine the type of fuel that will meet your needs.

Let’s note right away that both gasoline and diesel, and even gas, are perfectly normal fuel options. But each of the fuels is, for better or worse, suitable for some specific tasks.

For example, gasoline is best for when you need to go somewhere for a long time on a flat road without a huge number of traffic lights. Traveling to another city on a detour road? Great, gasoline is perfect for you! But this does not mean that it is better not to use gasoline cars in the city. No, you can drive on gasoline. It’s just that your car will waste a lot more energy on it, and over time the car will wear out.

If you commute daily through traffic jams and often find yourself in the city center at the weekend, a diesel-powered vehicle is the best choice for you. In addition, fuel consumption increases many times while driving in the metropolis.

Diesel cars, unlike gasoline cars, have a much longer service life. After all, diesel nodes are made of durable alloys, which allows them to withstand high pressure in the cylinders. Consequently, such engines are more wear-resistant, durable, even in difficult and intensive operation mode, as in the city.

Thus, we can conclude that diesel is the optimal fuel for driving at low and medium speeds. Gasoline, on the other hand, is ideal for long distances. However, choosing a car that runs on a particular fuel is only 1 task. The choice of filling station is not unimportant either.

Recently, “gray” gas stations, which sell fuel of poor quality, have become more frequent in Ukraine. Despite the fact that the authorities are fighting against them, each of you can accidentally go to such a gas station. Buy fuel only at proven gas stations. Most often – these are large networks, which are present in almost all cities.
